I began practicing Pilates fifteen years ago after suffering for several years with a back injury that left me in daily pain. I was thrilled by the almost instant relief I experienced after beginning my Pilates training. The strengthening of my core was just what my back needed to begin to heal and strengthen itself properly. I have been training with Kachina for the past twelve years and have found her to be a wonderful instructor! She always gives me a great workout and knows when and how to push me to my potential. I recently welcomed my baby daughter and was able to practice Pilates up until two days before I delivered! My Pilates training during my pregnancy helped me so much. I felt healthy and strong throughout my pregnancy and had a smooth delivery and a speedy recovery. Having a baby daughter herself, Kachina understands a woman’s needs during and after pregnancy and was great at creating a customized program for me during this time. I highly recommend Pilates with Kachina in general, and certainly during and after pregnancy.
I have been a client of PBB for the past year. Prior to that, I trained with the same teacher for 15 + years. So when she moved out of the area and I had to find a new studio I was very particular. I was used to a very high level of training and did not want to compromise. PBB, from its opening, has been known for its excellent teaching staff. This is no easy feat, it takes a lot of training and dedication. Pilates Back Bay is a fabulous, clean, well appointed studio in a great location. I started taking classes in preparation for my wedding 5 years ago and fell in love with the studio and the instructors. I'm definitely the type of person who needs to be held accountable for my workouts, but PBB goes above and beyond just accountability. I look forward to each and every class because the studio has developed such a strong community that working out there is now an hour I get to spend with friends, learning new exercises and being challenged to explore the basics more deeply, all within an atmosphere of welcoming and humor. I love walking out of class with the feeling that I've done something wonderful, not just for my body but also for my heart and soul!
